in connection with the use of the KaizenClip service. The protection of your data is of great importance to us.
We process your personal data exclusively in accordance with applicable legal provisions,
in particular the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
2. Data Categories
In the course of using our service, we process the following categories of data:
Customer information: Email address, username, and password (hashed) for account management and authentication.
VOD URLs: Twitch VOD links submitted by you to identify and download the desired video content.
Chat data: Twitch chat messages from the respective VOD, used for chat spike detection.
Transcripts: Text transcripts of video content generated by automatic speech recognition (Whisper).
Clips: Video clips generated based on the analysis, including burned-in captions.
Usage data: Technical access data such as IP address, timestamp, and user agent to ensure service operation.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of your personal data is based on your consent pursuant to
Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future
by contacting us at the email address above or by deleting your account.
Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures,
we additionally rely on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
4. Data Retention
Raw data (downloaded VODs, chat data, transcripts): automatically deleted 7 days after processing.
Generated clips: remain in your account until you delete them yourself.
In the course of providing our service, data is transmitted to the following third parties:
Google Gemini API
Transcripts and clip metadata are transmitted to the Google Gemini API (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway,
Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) for AI-based evaluation of viral potential.
The transfer to the USA is based on Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
Twitch API
VOD URLs are transmitted to the Twitch platform (Twitch Interactive, Inc., 350 Bush Street, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA)
to retrieve chat data and video content. The
Twitch Privacy Policy applies.
Hosting (Contabo)
Our servers are operated by Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Str. 32a, 81549 Munich, Germany.
Contabo processes data exclusively on our behalf and within the EU.

Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You may request the correction of inaccurate data.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
Transport encryption: All data transmissions are conducted over TLS-encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Password hashing: Passwords are stored exclusively as bcrypt hashes and are never stored in plain text.
Access control: Access to servers and databases is restricted to authorized personnel and secured by SSH keys and firewall rules.
Regular updates: Server software and dependencies are regularly updated to address known security vulnerabilities.
